The interview of the week with MR. Codrut Valentin Precup – Project manager of www.skiresorts.ro

1. infotravelromania.ro: When it was opened www.skiresorts.ro?
C.V.P.: This project was finished in 2001, the first version on line it was on the winter of 2002, but the opening in this form of the portal was at the International Tourism Market from Bucharest, in 2003.

2. infotravelromania.ro: Tell me a few words about this ski portal.
C.V.P.: In the present is the biggest data base and specialized services on tourism and winter sports. The portal is addressed to the skiers and snowboarders, but also to the professions in this area (tourism agencies, hotels, shops etc) who can find in Skiresort.ro a solid and efficient partner during the winter and not only. We offer information about coasts, ski monitors, snowboard, ski offers in Romania and abroad, hotels, events, contests and the snow for about all the coasts in Romania.
Skiresorts.ro is a trade mark, a product financed from private sources and administrated by Eweb srl from Tirgu-Mures.

3. infotravelromania.ro: I think is the only site from Romania that is daily updated about the snow. How do you manage to do that?
C.V.P.: It is a pleasure! We have a lot of people pasioned for snow and mountain. There are involved almost 80 people nationally and a mobile team who walks every day on resorts during the season. We have logistic, technology and the most important ingredient is the enthusiasm. That is our raspy. We will expect that from this season mass media mention the source of the information in their breaking news. That it will be the right way.

4. infotravelromania.ro: Which are the best coasts in Romania?
C.V.P.: The ones you feel good on. It depends on the man, on expectations, on preferences. The eye of a professionals could say which coasts are better, which are prepared on the summer, but I will let here the skiers and snowboarders to say their opinion in the forum of our portal.
Personaly, I love opened places and i try not to get in the way in the weekends when is a lot of people everywhere.
A certain thing is that the coasts are getting better every year, there are new places to ski, new facilities and I am glad.

5. infotravelromania.ro: What are the servicies and products do you offer on this site?
C.V.P.: We cover a large area of services and products and I will tell you now:
- the snow daily during the season
- maps for the cities with coasts in Romania. Usually they are ordered by mares, administrator of the coasts or by hotels from the area. As you might have seen in Ostrich or Switzerland, now you will find maps in Azuga, Poiana Brasov, Predeal, products of Skiresorts.ro. in January we will have maps also for Sinaia and Borsa.
- pocket maps with the ski areas from Romania. We already finished the first edition of the Guide of ski resorts from Romania – pocket edition. Certainly in January we will edit it again.
- WAP – the snow is offered daily on the mobile phone on the address wap.skiresorts.ro
- ski/snowboard equipments. We were the first who introduced on the online market the concept of e-mall. Practically we are talking about many producers and distributors who sell online on the same shop. This way the buyers can analyze all the offers and the products and can buy directly from that producer. The products are delivered to the requested addresses, the payment is through C.C. or O.P. the application is monitories by our partner for electronic commerce e-payment.ro.

Events and contests
We promote for free all the events organized on resorts or coasts, ski clubs, snowboard, monitors associations, guides etc

Mass media
We offer resources for articles and season shows, the snow, statistics, opinions to all the people from TV, radio, newspapers, reviews, web pages.

Offers from tourism agencies and hotels
- the tourism agencies can promote their offers to a market directly interested during the winter season. They can communicate directly with the agencies, the hotels from the portal and with tourists whom requests the offers, without an intermediary for the contract or transaction. Also they can access the prices for the tourism agencies, hotels, confidential. This way we tried to facilitate the collaboration between hotel and the tourism agencies that are members of the portal skiresort.ro.
- the hotels – they have permanent access to their offer, they can announce for free, they can see special offers and discounts. The reservation is made directly to the hotel, without an intermediary.
- Shops, pubs, clubs, all can promote their activity and location on portal skiresort.ro

6. infotravelromania.ro: What will you offer us in 2005?
C.V.P.: We prepare some routes marked with GPS, some pocket maps of the resorts, contests with big awards in equipments and events on the coasts organized by Skiresorts.ro. There are o lot of things in plan, but we prefer to be quiet about them. It will be a surprise.

7. infotravelromania.ro: What is your opinion about www.infotravelromania.ro?
C.V.P.: It is a good source of daily information from tourism, certainly a good partner. We also recommend in our site www.infotravelromania.ro as a source of information for Romanian and foreign tourists who came to visit Romania.
