The interview of the
week with Alina Oana, the president of tourism club “Pas
intins”
1.infotravelromania.ro:
What is “Pas intins”?
A.O.: “Pas
intins” is a tourism club opened in December 1997 by a group pf
students and teachers from the Academy of economical studies in Bucharest.
The scope of this club it was to built a medium for the students from
Tourism Services in A.S.E. to practice what they were learning and to
enrich their knowledge in this domain and a minimum experience in tourism.
Also, we try to animate the student life, by organizing a lot of trips,
especially on the mountain.
2.infotravelromania.ro: Which are the main directions
of the club this year?
A.O.: Our objectives this year are to increase and enlarge the trips we
organize and to help our members to start a career in tourism after their
graduation. This way we will have a series of projects/activities to promote
our club as the best tourism club from A.S.E. BUCHAREST.
3.infotravelromania.ro: How many tourism clubs there
are now and where can we find an updated list of them?
A.O.: It’s
hard to answer to this question because I don’t know the exact number
of those clubs, not even an approximate number. I think you can find a
list of the clubs to ANCTT (The National Association of Tourism Clubs
) , but not all the tourism clubs are affiliate to this association. Also
you need to make the difference between a tourism club and a mountain
tourism club (this kind of clubs are organizing mountain trips, training
the guides and organizing of different events and projects related to
mountain tourism).
4.infotravelromania.ro: Do you think that today young
people are going to the mountain or on the mountain?
A.O.: It depends.
Young people are very different meaning their personality, mentalities
or preferences about trips. I think that the number of people who are
going on the mountain is increasing but also small. Any way, the interest
in mountain trips is big between young people, and o lot of them are coming
with us in the mountain trips (those trips are organized especially on
the mountain, as I said before). The mountain clubs from Bucharest have
o lot of members. About the other clubs from Romania I don’t know
very much.
5.infotravelromania.ro:
What is different about your club?
A.O.: All the
clubs are organizing trips and tourism projects, but our club is different,
because we have a different kind of people working here. We are a big
family and we know each other very well and that’s why we have a
big success.
6.infotravelromania.ro:
Where can young people find out more information about your club?
A.O.: A lot
of information are available on www.pasintins.go.ro
and also to our bureau on Mihail Moxa Club, room 3111.
