The interview of the week with Mr. Razvan Alexandru – the director of the ELIZEU HOTEL 3 ***

1.infotravelromania.ro: Please, tell us a few words about ELIZEU HOTEL.
R.A.: The ELIZEU HOTEL was opened in august 2003, so we now have a year of activity. We have as facilities our position near the biggest railway station in Bucharest (we know that in the big cities the hotels near the railway station are the most wanted), but also the rapport between quality of services/price. So, we offer air conditioned rooms, cable television, international phone, mini bar. The tourists can use the services offered by our restaurant, our day bar, room service.

2.infotravelromania.ro: What is your hosing capacity and which are the prices in this moment?
R.A.: When we opened the hotel, we had 25 rooms downstairs and on the first two floors. In the present we have finished another 28 rooms and one apartment, so the hotel is functioning on maximum capacity - 53 double rooms and one apartment with a bedroom, living room, main bath and a sanitary group. The prices are 50 €/double room, 40 €/ single room, 75 € /apartment. Those prices are including breakfast as a Swedish buffet, the hotel taxes and TVA. Analyzing the market of the 3 star hotels from Bucharest, we know that our offer is good for the transit tourism, economic, where the budget imposes a good analysis of the facilities of the housing.

3.infotravelromania.ro: What was the degree of taking of the hotel?
R.A.: The taking of the hotel in the first 8 months of the year was around 68%, but only for august the degree of taking was bigger than the rest, I mean 82%. We must realize that at the beginning of the year the number of rooms increased from 25 to 54 and in the same time the degree of taking of the hotel is also increasing, we consider that the position of our hotel on the market is getting stronger, our offer is more and more appreciated by our tourists.

4.infotravelromania.ro: What is the medium period of staying in your hotel?
R.A.: Most of the clients are business people and they are staying 2-3 days. An important volume of the taking is assured by the groups traveling with different tourism agencies, and those groups are in transit through other touristy places, but in some periods of the year we are also housing different groups that are here to conferences and seminaries which are staying 12 – 15 days. The medium journey from the beginning of the year it was of 2 – 3 days /room.

5.infotravelromania.ro: How many foreign tourists are coming to your hotel?
R.A.: In the summer time, because of the groups of tourists who are coming to visit Romania, the foreign tourists are almost 60%. In the rest of the year the Romanian people become the majority of the clients, they traveling for business, but also there are foreign tourists. The rapport is of 65% Romanian tourists to 35 % foreign tourists.

6.infotravelromania.ro: What is your offer for this autumn and for the New Year?
R.A.: Being a transit hotel, our hotel has a lot of solicitation in any time of the year and we don’t have special offers for the autumn and the New Year.
